Westminster Oaks “Best Wishes” Card Sample.

I really like teaching the card making and paper crafting classes  at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee.  The ladies that attend the classes really enjoy sharing this time together.  Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator has giving me the opportunity to meet and be around so many different types of people.  It is such a joy to see all these Senior Women enjoying themselves so much, and to see them add their own twist to the samples that I do.

Here is a "Best Wishes" card that we did. It is so fun for them to ask if they could make it a different type of card, and my response to them is…"of course, it is your card, you can make whatever type of card you want to make or need to make…I just provide the sample to go by"…and there were some that changed it to a Thank You card, a Happy Birthday card, and I think there was a Thinking of You card too.

image from www.jillsstampingcorner.comWe used Apricot Appeal as the base card, and added a layer of Orchid Opulence, and a layer of Gable Green. The border stamp on each side of the Whisper White is from the Strenght & Hope stamp set, and we used Apricot Appeal Classic Stampin' Pad.  On my sample I stamped two "Best Wishes" from the Sincere Salutations stamp set with Gable Green Classic Stampin' Pad, and one "Best Wishes" in the middle using Orchid Opulence Classic Stampin' Pad.

You can't really tell from this photo, but the Whisper White card stock has a small Z-fold on both the top and bottom to have it rasied a little off the Gable Green layer.  The ladies thought that was so neat to add the Whisper White layer like that to give the card more dimension.  Some of the ladies took the stamp from the Strength & Hope set to stamp on the inside of the card and also on the envelope.
