My wish is that all have a blessed Thanksgiving, spending it with friends and family. For those of you that are traveling…safe travels.
Do you just think about all the turkey, dressing, and sides or do you ever think about how Thanksgiving started?
"In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn
harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first
Thanksgiving celebrations in the colonies. For more than two centuries,
days of thanksgiving were celebrated by individual colonies and states.
It wasn't until 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, that President
Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each
November." by History.com.
Another tradition at Thanksgiving is the Cornucopia or Horn of Plenty. I could not think of a better photo for the Divas this week. Here is UDI Inspiration Challenge 160. To learn more about the cornucopia or horn of plenty, click here.
For my base card I used Naturals White and added a layer of So Saffron. I had fun creating this card, I think I picked some colors that I would not normally put together, but for this card it seemed to work. The stamp set used is Day of Gratitude, and the colors I used are So Saffron, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder.
Again, I hope everyone has a wonderful time eating your Thankgiving dinners and you have a great time spent with family and friends.
Don't forget that tomorrow is Black Friday! Stop by again tomorrow to find out my Black Friday deal for you.
