"Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim August 21, 1988, as National Senior Citizens Day. I call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities." Click on the link to see the full Proclamation 5847-National Senior Citizens Day, 1988.
I know that most of us either know a Senior Citizen or are one…no, I am not quite there yet. We should honor them for they have paved the roads that we are on today. We can learn so much, for they have lived a long life, and have been through different times. So take a few minutes, or an hour, or the day, and spend some time with a Senior Citizen today. Listen to them, learn from them, grow from their experiences and knowledge. Let them know that you care, many of them feel so alone in the world, feel like they have been forgotten.
This timing of National Senior Citizen Day is a little off for me, but I am excited because this Sunday is my monthly Paper Crafting and Card Making class that I hold at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee, Florida. The ladies really look forward to the last Sunday afternoon of the month, which is when I hold my classes for them. I have a little group that has been attending on a regular basis since I started my classes 6 months ago. This month I decided to make a little "Thank You" for them but I can't share it with you today, I don't want to spoil the surprise.
If you want to see what I made for them, come back on Sunday when I will be sharing what I made for them.
Thank you for stopping at Jill's Stamping Corner (JSC),
