Guess what today is?…your right…UDI Inspiration Challenge day, and this week is Inspiration Challenge #152. I had fun picking out the photo for the challenge this week. This time of year reminds me of cotton candy. I used to LOVE eating cotton candy, but it bothered me when I was
done eating because my fingers were all sticky and around my mouth was all sticky…but it was SO good. I bet if you asked everyone you know where Cotton Candy or Fairy Floss" was invented, most would say in the United States in the late 1800's. However, apparently there are writtings of long before the mid-1800's. Click Cotton Candy to read more. Do you have a fun Cotton Candy story?…share it below in the comments section.
Now let us get down to the real sticky business. Here is the card that I created for this challenge. I still have Christmas on my mind, so here is another card to add to my collection. My base card is Very Vanilla, and I use a Stamping Sp0ng to add Pink Pirouette around the edges of the card. My next step was stamping the snow flake like design from Delightful Decorations using Pink Pirouette, then I stamped a few with VersaMark and applied Heat and Stick, and heated them using the Heat gun. I then applied Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter. My next step was embossing the ornament by stamping on Pink Pirouette card stock with VersaMark and sprinkled Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and heated it using the heat gun. I punched it out using the Ornament punch. I embossed the Merry Christmas on Very Vanilla with the Silver embossing powder like as I did with the ornament. I punched this out using the 3/4" Circle punch and layered it on a 1" Circle punch of Pink Pirouette using a Stampin' Dimensional. I used 4 Stampin' Dimensionals to glue the ornament on my base card.
I am glad that I found this photo for the challenge with week, I like non-traditional colors to create Christmas cards. I invite you to play along with us in our weekly challenge. If you create a card for this challenge, leave a comment and I would love to feature your creation on Jill's Stamping Corner. To see what the other Divas created click here.
